Multicentral clinical trial of Butterfly’s retraction system was launched in Israel

Initial 3 patients enrolled into a trial with Butterfly’s retraction system and treated in Ziv Hospital (Safed) by the Chief of Urology Department, Dr. Ran Katz and his team. Each minimally invasive procedure duration for BPH (Enlarged Prostate) was about 10 minutes and the patients were released from the Medical Center rapidly. The quality of patient’s life is now significantly improving, without the need to take drugs with severe side effects or being operated. Dr. Katz is completely satisfied with the interim results and additional patients are planned to be enrolled to the study in his department. Dr. Katz believes Butterfly retraction procedure can become the standard of care for BPH treatment and will be performed in urologist’s clinic under local anesthesia.

Butterfly Medical, a portfolio company of Alon MedTech Ventures, developed a Butterfly Retraction System for minimally invasive effective treatment of non-cancerous prostate enlargement.
